This Pack of 6 AAA Ni-MH 1000mAh Rechargeable Batteries for Solar Lights has an energy storage capacity of 1000mAh. They can be used to replace your existing TRIPLE A 1.2V Ni-MH solar light batteries.

AAA Ni-MH solar light batteries generally last 2 to 3 years, based on the number of cycles that the particular battery has. This specific battery has a lifetime cycle of 1000 charges and discharges, so it should last around 3 years.

Can you use just any alkaline rechargeable battery that you charge in your electric battery charger? In a pinch, yes, if you need to test the light to see if the batteries need replaced. That battery will last as long as the built-in charge lasts, maybe a few months, then it will give out and you'll have to take it out of the solar light, bring it into your home and plug it into your electric charger to recharge. Remember, an alkaline battery that is charged by electricity has no ability to charge itself from solar power. Unless you prefer to be dealing with your solar batteries all of the time, choose replacement batteries made for solar lighting.

Using the incorrect battery can also burn out the circuitry in some solar lights. Again, it is always best to replace the existing batteries with the same type of battery that was installed by the manufacturer.

You can upgrade your existing batteries by choosing a higher mAh. The mAh refers to the energy storage capacity that a single battery can hold. The higher the mAh, the more energy the battery can store from the sun on a single day. If your existing lights have multiple LED bulbs in one fixture, it does draw more energy on a daily basis, so this 1000mAh, or the larger 1100mAh capacity, will keep your lights on longer at night. Either of these can replace your 1.2V 300mAh, 400mAh, 600mAh or 800mAh rechargeable batteries with no problem, and give you a longer, better charge for your solar garden lights.
